Tire Size, Rear End, and Suspension

I have a few questions. Will 225/50 16's fit on 16x7 Torq Thrust Wheels? I have an 8in rear end w/a 302 that I drive mainly on the street and ocassionaly drag race, what gear ratio do you reccomend? Also, I have a 1" shelby drop on my front suspension, is it worth upgrading to the negative wedge kit, is there a big difference?

the tires you want will fit you just need the right backspacing on the wheels, 4.75" iirc. as far as upgrading to the negative wedge kit, dont unless you are going racing and need stock arms in the class you plan to run in. and even then you need to reinforce the upper arm right behind the ball joint as that is where the negative wedge kit puts the stress, and the arm was not designed for it. for gears runa set of 3.55's as a best compromise, or if oyu want to be like me, use a set of 3.00's for the street, and swap to a set of 3.73's, or 3.89's for the track. this is easily done with the removable pumpkin, just set up a second pumpkin with the race gears.

So many questions...

1. Wheel charL http://www.dodgestang.com/mustang.htm
2. Street driving you don't need to buy global west shebly drop is plenty
3. Gear ratio...with a standard 1:1 tranny anything over 3.55 on the street is ALOT of RPMS as soon as you hit open road.

BTW 4.75 is NOT the correct backspacing for 16x7 or even 16x8 because of ball joint issues. If you upgrade to a 17x8 wheel then 4.75 is the ideal backspacing based on experience.

you are confusing the global west negative roll kit, with the pro-motorsports negative wedge kit. the global west negative roll kit IS the upper control arms. the pro-motorsports negative wedge kit is just that, 2 wedges that chang the ball joint angles so you can move the upper arm pivot point lower than you can with just the stock arm, and NO they will not work together.

dodgestang i wasnt sure of the correct backspacing, but for a 15x7 wheel 4 - 4.25" is what is called for.
