I have a 69 coupe and am trying to find out what are the largest tires I can get on the car without rubbing.I would like to buy 15'' wheels for it. I have been having difficulty finding this info. Could someone let me know the tire size and wheel size I need?

Good Ol' Dodge Stang!

15 will fit no problem. How wide do you want to go?

i ran 275/50-15 out back on my 69 coupe with 15x8 wheels, i did have to roll the fender lips though, but the backspacing on my wheels wasn't optimal either.

Unless your car is literally slammed, the tires will probably never rub with 15" wheels. BUT as far as optimal patch contact with the road, you could run a 295 series tire with the proper backspacing and A.) Never rub the fender lip in the rear B.) Stay inside the fender lines
The problem with that theory is that there are very few wheel selections that come mass produced as a 15" wheel with that width at the proper backspacing requirements. With that said, it's more likely you will end up special ordering a set of wheels, WHICH will undoubtedly be expensive. FURTHERMORE, with wheels that small in diameter, you will either have to drop the body several inches or mount absurdly tall tires on the wheels to fill in the wheel wells. Then at that point, with balloon tires you will have horrible handling characteristics. Your best bet is to find a set of 16" or 17" wheels. There's a much larger abundance of wheel and tire sizes that will accommodate the larger width you are shooting for.

An Optimal wheel/tire combo assuming the proper wheel backspacing and fender lip rolling would be:

Front: 245/45-17
Rear: 295/45-17

My 2cents....
