Whats the widest tire size I can go front and back on 99' cobra? I am hearing about this IRS bolt causing issues with tire rub out back. I was thinking 265 up front and 305 out back

I just went through this and you will find a few different answers. If you are going to be running a 17x10.5 in the rear, you WILL NEED to get the button head MM bolt for the IRS and 3/8" spacers. I just got done going through this whole fiasco.

If you are running 18's in the back, you should be fine. That IRS subframe bolt is your enemy.

As far as the fronts, you can go pretty wide. I am running a 255 in the front, but the 03 came with 275's and if you are running a 9" wheel up front, 275's will fit nicely.

Thanks man. So with the 18's I am running I could do the 305's with no issues? And you say 275s up front? That would be awesome.

Should be good, but, it might not be bad insurance to have a set of spacers on hand when doing it. You can always return them if you don't use them.

I run 335 30 18 hoosier VRL slicks on the rear of my 04. I also run 305 30 18s up front.

does anyone know what the largest tire size you can run on the stock chrome rims that came on the 03/04 cobras? I wanted to put 305's on the rear with 275's up front on 17x9 rims. Does the IRS bolt still cause a problem?
