Tire sizes for 17x9 R's

I already did a search to see if any threads answered this question, and none did, so no grief about not doin a search ok? I have a 95 Cobra with 17x9 Cobra R rims, and need to replace the tires. I am currently running Bridgestone Potenza RE730's in 275/40/ZR17. I was thinking about goin to a 35 series for the sidewall, but what would the 275 change to in accordance with the 35 series? I want to keep the wideness of the 275/40's. Also, does anyone think that the 35 series will look stupid on 17's? Thanks

Stick with the 275/40's.

I had 35's on my steeda wheels before I bought my current set of tires which are 40's and the 40's look a ton better. the 35's looked small.

Thanks, I just needed some opinions, I think I'll stick with the 275/40's. There are a decent amount of options in that size. Anyone have any complaints about Toyo Proxes T1-S or Yokohama AVS ES100? I really like the look of both tires and they are relatively affordably priced.

i've been looking at buying a set of the T1-S's. what is the best price you have found?

www.tiresavings.com has my size, 275/40/ZR17 for $169 each, thats the cheapest I've found so far. The Yokohama AVS ES100 in 275/40/ZR17 is priced at $129 on the same site. I was originally going to buy another set of Bridgestone Potenzas, but they are just way too much more expensive compared to Yoko's and Toyo's.
