Woh, those are going to be wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy off, unless of course you are going to sawzall the fenders off and go mud bogging.

Factory size tire is a 225 55 16 on a fox.
Me personally on 16 inch wheels/tires on a fox prefer the 245 45 16. (which produces a lower profile tire than stock)
I think stock fox 16 inch tires were too tall, but that's me.

But to keep the stock tire height you would need a 285 45 16.
With that said, i'd say there is very little chance of that happening.

How wide are your rims? A 285 is going to require something about 9 inches wide, 8.5 may work too, but that's pushing it.

I think the calculation (if i remember correctly), is up 20mm in width, down 5 in profile, that will keep any tire you need at the right height.

Same for me. That size is getting really hard to find, but this one looks promising: http://www.nexentireusa.com/tires/high-performance/n3000
They were there 6 months ago, & now no longer listed.

Still listed here: http://www.onlinetires.com/products/vehicle/tires/nexen/245%2F45-16 nexen n3000 94w bsw.html

Race tires only in 245/45-16.

I used to have 255's on the rear and 235's on the front. I gave the car a nice stance and the size difference made the rear's look bigger. They had a nice look and fit even with the quad shocks on. I don't think you can get much bigger without some work to make them fit.

My old set up.

225/50/16 up front and 255/50/16's out back.

I'll be honest...the 255's looked too fat on my stock 16x7 Pony's for my liking. They had a lot of sidewall bulge....so if you insist on going that wide, I'd at least get them on an 8" wheel.

245-50x16's are just about the stock height, good for the rear.
225-50x16's are about 1" less height, good for all around or front only (so car will sit 1/2" lower in front than rear).

245's need the 8" width wheel, which I do have.

I wouldn't say 8" wide wheels are a must with the 245's. I had 245/50/16's on my last Fox body with the 16x7 Pony's and they fit and handled quite well. They didn't so much bulge, as they provided extra protection from curb rash.

Too tall for early GT's, the fronts rub on the fender flares.

My car was an '87....a year "older" than yours. I only ever experienced the slightest rubbing under the hardest cornering. Otherwise....not an issue. The tires were Dunlop SP Sports.

This was with the stock height springs however. I'd imagine a lowered car would rub accordingly.

Pretty vital detail to leave out of your initial post.

That being the case, they would be too tall for even the later GT's was well. The solution would be to either run a narrower tire like you suggested, or wheel spacers.

For us guys with stock springs....they fit without issue.
