I cannot get my 89 to get traction on the wet roads. I need a decent tire for the wet season.

what do you guy's run, and can you actually hit 2500 rpms in first and second without having the rear end come loose?

I have a feeling its my tires, stock suspension, and greasy roads that are getting wet for the first time in awhile.

I am dreading the icy part of winter :D

I currently have BFG KDWS all the way around, but still spinn em good if i try! Being easy they grip like no tomorrow! My 4 banger i have yoks this thing has no power and in second if i punch it it will break loose. So it could be tires and your driving habits? When i had my 315 goodyear GSD3's LOL now they hooked great in all weather except snow! I have a set of studs for 15" wheels for ya for that time of year. peace

I have kdw's as well and absolutely love them, good summer tire and I think they are very good in the rain. Had a track day in the rain with them and was able to get quite comfortable out there despite the weather.

hey thanks for the replies.

the Roads havent seen this much rain in a few months. it will take a few days for the road oil to wash off. This morning it was like driving on ice.
When I was cruising down from eugene this afternoon there was at least 1.5" of hail on the road. I thought it had snowed. I layed off the throttle and was able to make it through that patch of road without to much pucker from my backside. I was more worried about all the california plate cars ahead of me.

I run 285 GSD3's in the back, and in light rain I can get about 60-75% throttle in first gear with little difficulty. Full throttle in second up to 5.5k RPMs.

Stock I put down 295 to the wheels, and I just put on a K&N, Bassani catted X and catback, just to give you an idea on power levels.

that sounds like it will do the trick. If I hit 60% throttle right now, my rear end gets loose and starts to sway back and forth.

I am really digging my GS D3's. I am really surprised how well they cut into the wet pavement. I have yet to do any terrible hydroplaning. I am running the 315's in the rear. Even with those giant ski's they work very well in the wet. I have also run the AVS ES100's and they were alright. My Khumo SPT's up front are phenomanal on wet pavement. But they aren't lasting very long.

Good luck :)
