Well I know the tires on my car are getting ready to need replacement in the next few months. Right now it has stock 225/55r16's I am wondering what the widest tire people have use without rubbing is?? The car is at stock height right now, but I plan to lower it 1-2" in the future depending on what I find..

I was hoping maybe some 245's if not bigger would fit..

****, you won't be close to rubbing on 245s.

As far as your 16x7 ponies go, you should be able to fit a 255 series tire on it just fine.

255/50/16 ET Street drag radials mounted on stock ponies seem to be working real well for some guys out there right now.

COOL!

This is a daily driver, not much of a teack car, but I need tires soon and would rather spend a little more and get as big as I can while I am dropping the $$ on rubber...

Right now it has Toyo T1-s on it in stock size and they seem to hold really well, I might bump up to the T1-R depending on $$

I have 255/50/16's on mine for the drag strip and they fit fine, no rubbing at all. I say go 245/50 in the T1-R, they are badass tires.

Nitto makes a 245/50 in the drag radial too, so if you want some more rear traction think about that.

What? On 16" wheels in general!?

255/50 IS the biggest you'll want to run on stock 16x7s...you could fit a bigger tire, but 255/50 is idea.

i had 245's too on my 16" waffles.

i now have 245 nittos on my bullets and they look like 215's compared to the 245's. i'm very disapointed.

looks like some deep dish and 315's are in my future.
