Would like to know what I need to convert by 96 GT to a 5.0, or if there are any websites detailing the swap? Thanks

You will need a donor 94-95 car I would imagine.

May I ask, what do you hate so much about the mod motor?

I loved my 04, hated the payment but it was so much smoother than the 5.0's. Now I moved back to the 5.0 for monetary reasons. If your looking at a swap maybe a 5.4 or just rebuild ur current 4.6 and but a blower on it.

Not sure, just throwing u some help. Other may be betters ideas on ur 5.0 swap.

Mod motor parts do cost more but they have come down considerably. I love the feel of the mod but the sound and grunt of the 5.0. I have a good friend with a blown 351 and it is just nasty, I have another good friend that has a 99+ mod that was cammed and it was sick sounding. The mod is a good motor, just has to have the right parts, just like a 302. A good set of heads and cams for the mod and it will run right with or around a similarly modded 5.0.

Either way, the best bet to swap to 5.0 is to find a wrecked 94-95 5.0 and rob all the parts u can as the wiring harnesses and sensors and all that will either be different or in a different location. Good luck. Would like to know what kind of a PITA it is.

to do it on the cheap i would guess a 94-95 K member an a carb set up. cheaper an easier. if you wanted EFI tuning an precision you could do a stand alone EFI set up.

+1 Unless you just repainted the car and have a lot of money in suspension parts you fear you won't get back.
