i just finished my car, just waiting on new head to come in (stupid casting defects) and i put in a tko 600 in my 89 vert, all you have to do is grind the welds on the x member mounts that mount to the unibody then slide em all the way back, remember to reweld when done, and as for the SFI bellhousing,, if you are running a TKO 600 you prolly have some good power, be better to spend another 150$ to save your feet if that clutch shatters, plus some tracks wont let you run if you dont have SFI,, go to and i know everyone says so DDperformace.com and get on, they are the cheapest by far for a whole kit,
be like $1700 for the tranny
$300 for Mcleod SFI bellhousing
$300 for Mcleod DF clutch
and $225 for new FRPP driveshaft,, i know it sucks to pay for all of that at once but easy to put in,
if you dont want a new driveshaft get you a 31 spline yoke be about 70$ then have a machine shop weld and balance old DS prolly cost ya like 150$ or so for all of it so just spend the extra 75$ and get you the FRPP Aluminum one and cut weight down and make it stronger anyways,,,
oh yeah and you cannot use stock BH with the TKO600 have to get new BH for sure
