TKO crossmember, where to buy?

you could get the new FRPP unit, which comes unwelded on the slip collars (where it mounts to the chassis) so you can mount it how you like it...i believe that's the one tremec recommends when using their tranny's

I don't know personally, but I've heard lot's of people say the one from the AOD cars will work. I got mine from USA Motorsports when I bought my TKO. I imagine any bigger place that sells the Tremec line also sells the crossmember, just pick up a Mustang magazine and start calling venders...?

Yeah man just try it.
Should bolt right up fine and dandy.
I swapped the K-member for a Tubular design, so I'm sure that's why I had to "modify" mine.
Drilled the slots in the crossmember slightly longer

ALL you've got to do is cut the welds off of the tubes, so the tubes slide in and out. Don't waste your money on an aftermarket cross member. Don't bother to reweld, it's not necessary.

The TKO is longer and the tailshaft sits back further, so the crossmember needs to slide back, even then it's at the back of the slots, at least for me. Don't be suprised if you'll need to have the driveshaft shortened. You will also need to cut off the exaust hangers or move them back. I have a tubular K-member which has the option to move the motor further back and your damn straight the option will be taken, so I'll definatly need an inch or two cut off the driveshaft.

Remember, even if the driveshaft still fits that doesn't mean it's the right length- it isn't supposed to go all the way into the tranny. There is supposed to be a measured space worth of play. Why did you have to chop the hanger?
