tko swap?

wat up im new to this site...ok, so going with a tko 600 n got some questions...how do i make it fit perfectly in my car? new clutch fork? wat size driveshaft spacer? modify crossmember? i know the 31 spline yoke i need..will my king cobra clutch work with it? any good imput on helpin me out would be much appreciated thx

I have a TKO-600, for fitment all I had to do was cut the stock tranny mount a little because it was too long and hit part of the tail end. Once I did that it was fine. I believe the spacer is 5/8", I also use that.

I have a Mcleod Bellhousing and Street Twin clutch so I can't help you with the fork and clutch. I suggest you call ProMotion Powertrain @ Toll Free: (800) 771-6843 for any other question. They are the best when it comes to manual trannies.

TKO600 has a 26 spline input shaft, so no your King Cobra clutch won't work as it is for a 10 spline input shaft. You will need a Fox body clutch fork. I bought one new at Jegs for like $25. I didn't use a D/S spacer and my setup has been fine for about a year and 4k miles so far. An alternative to just buying the 31 spline yoke for the stock driveshaft is buying a FRPP aluminum driveshaft for a 96-up Mustang if you have the cash. That's what I did. On the tranny mount there is a plate with some hangers on it that holds up the stock H pipe.....this plate will hit the TKO. You can cut a big notch out of it if you want, but it is easier to just remove it and use some sheet metal stacked up to the same thickness as the plate in its' place. Your midpipe will stay in place just fine without it. Big washers work too. I didn't have to flip my crossmember or any of that nonsense. It just worked somehow for me. You might have to clearance the tranny tunnel a bit with a rubber mallet before you put the tranny in...the TKO is bigger and came real close in my car., but I got by without it. I've had no issues or vibes at all since I put the TKO setup in. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Do a search in the 94-95 forums, there are a few good threads about this swap already.

Sublime just about covered it. I have posted exactly what is needed multiple times on these boards, so if you search under my name you should find the answers you seek. Also, I needed 2 shorter bolts for the top two holes in the bell housing, but I have an aluminum bell.

Or you can use washers for those two upper most bolts in the bell.

Do a search and you'll find yourself with hours upon hours of reading on this topic.

yeah the bolts threw me off for a bit there....i think they are about 1 1/4 long
