Drivetrain TKX Shifter Position Question

Need more info. Do you have a TKX installed and if so what shifter is on it? How tall are you? Is your seat all the way back? How far do you tilt the seat back? If you do have a TKX installed what exactly do you not like about the shifter position?

I'd just like to know where the TKX shifter stub sits compared to the factory T5 shifter stub. Does the TKX shifter stub sit further forward than the factory T5 stub? Normally if a Fox T5 and bellhousing are installed into a 94-95 GT, the shifter stub will sit 5/8" to 3/4" forward of the factory 94-95 position due to the shorter Fox input shaft and shallower Fox bellhousing.

My TKX is not installed yet and I'd like to order an aftermarket shifter before I do. I know where I need the shifter to be while sitting in my fixed seating position.

Thanks.

So they do not make a TKX that has the 3/4” longer input shaft for a 94/95 car. So if you are putting one in it will have to have a Fox bell housing which may or may not work due to the clutch fork position (read clocking). If it will work then it will move the shifter forward 3/4” and it has been documented that in. Fox car it moves the shifter 1” to the passenger side.

The TKX shifter in my 93 sits exactly in the same position the T5 shifter did in relation to the front and back of the car. With regards to left and right is was 1” to the passenger side.
Thanks. That means that the TKX shifter will sit forward of the factory SN T5 shifter in a SN car. This helps me with the offsets that I need for a shifter.

I have a MGW on my GForce and love it. I wanted one for the TKX but I need a handle that curves back towards me. They show only one handle that's straight up and down. I sit in a solid mounted Kirkey seat and I'm held in place with a 5 point harness.

I'm super interested in this as well. Please post pictures when you get it in. It's very hard to find info regarding the TKX and '94-'95 installations. I want to put one in my car, but I don't want to cut up the sheet metal to make it fit. It's been a long time since I've had it apart, so I don't remember how much extra room there was around the T5's shifter. I'm also wondering what this will do to fitting the upper boot around the TKX's shifter.

As far as the reach goes, the SN shifter location already sits pretty far forward for someone like me with long legs and the seat as far back as it will go. I think the guys are right that an MGW will be the best way to recover the one-inch passenger side bias and get the shift knob far enough back. Their "comfort" shifter has a stock-style kick back which might work.
