Who has gotten their top replaced? Mine is starting to slowly not be functional. The back window is starting to fall out (the staples have ripped out of the vinyl fabric) and it is misaligned and cannot be adjusted because it is so old and has shrunk.

I was thinking of ordering the top kit from latemodelresto, and upgrading to the defrost window +$40, making it $410 and shipping. I have been quoted at $350 labor cost from one of the most reputable installers around. The guy does restoration work on classics down here in FL on convertibles. Restoration places pay him for his services, something that I trust on quality.

Are these prices good? I have new tension cables and quarter window cables to go with this kit too. Anyone buy their tops online and where?

It was replaced when my brother in law had it right before he sold it to me. And whoever did it, probably did as good of a job as I could have.

I am probably just gonna bite the bullet and buy it and pay the guy to install it.
