To all the people who have cut their front springs.

I cut the stockers on my '68 fastback and cut them 1/4 coil at a time until I got what I wanted. I found 1/4 coil to be equal to about 1/2". If you do it this way make sure to settle the springs before measuring. I drove mine in and out of the garage while steering a bit from side to side.

When do you have to be concerned about binding issues?

I did a 1 inch Shelby drop and currently have 620 1 inch lowering springs. That dropped my height about 1 1/2 inches. I was thinking of dropping it 1 to 1 1/2 more inches.

Currently from the frame under the radiator to the ground is 10 1/2 inches. Just as a refrence.

Again, thanks for the info.

While you have the springs out, put a jack under your lower control arm and raise it up until it binds. I did that and mine went all the way to the bump stop with no problems in binding at all.
Thats the key 1" shelby you will hit the bump stop before it binds springs have nothing to do with binding.

My kids' '65 with 289 and 390/510 Pro Motorsports springs drops about 1/2 to 3/4 inch per 1/4 coil.

Speaking of bind, don't do a Shelby drop of more than an inch without changing out your stock upper control arms, or you are likely to bind the upper ball joint with potentially catastrophic results.
