not sure if this is the right place to post this one up but this might help some of ya'll that would like to have subwoofers in the trunk of a coupe and still have space. this isn't the only way to get away with putting subwoofers in the trunk but this is what i did and it works. anyways.....them annoying rods that hold the trunk open are in the way..therefore take them out!! but you gotta be careful because the are under pressure and WILL hurt you. when the rods are out,the trunk won't stay open on it's own. so what i did was take a trip to the junk yard and found some hinges off a 88 mustang convertable, took them off then bolted them on my car. the 2 bolts holding the trunk lid on will need to be taken off so the new hinge will bolt on. you can use the factory bolts still to bolt the hinge on. as far as bolting it to the car.....the little brackets that need to be taken when you get the hinge...will work also...but you have to drill a hole for one of the bolts. after all thats finished....adjust the trunk lid...helps to have 2 people .....then it's completed. i just wanted to let everyone know how to do it if this is what they were looking for.

That's exactly what I did with my setup, minus the convertable hinges bit. I just use a chunk of wood to hold it open. However, two Infinity 10 inchers fit in there right nicely, between the box design and deadening most people don't think they're 10s. I got my dad to help me do it, he went at it with a pair of lineman's pliers. Since he's already doing pics I won't bother, if I find time and you guys want it though I'll do it.

i kinda did the same thing but (might get flamed for this) i took out my back seat and the brace thats behind it( looks like a v) i took that out and the trunk brace things and literaly wedged my bandpass w/ two 10's in there and put the seat back in it holds the box in place very well then i mouted my amp to the back of the box and if u wanted to steal it u would definately have to do some workin to get them out lol. just my 2 cents

no flamage....i took out my back seat also....as with that v-brace. haha
....i'm thinking about building a fiberglass box in my back seat...then doing an amp rack in the trunk. don't want anything to heavy...but i like alot of bass. so we'll see what happens.

all i have is old pics when i started building it,the box design on the back side was difficult it was built in diffrent angles to fit the seat form at the bottom and to angle out so it don't hit the hatch
