to change the steering wheel

to change the steering wheel what do you have to do? how dose it come off. i want to get a grant one for it. thanks guys and gals

depends on the certain one but in your case, factory wise, you pull the center pad off and there should be just a bolt.. you'll have to jerk on the steering wheel back and forth to get the wheel itself off but it can be done in like 5 mins.. lol

ok sounds simple enough. im going to go buy a steering wheel right now. is there a certain type i have to get or as long as it will work with a 83 mustang?

just make sure you buy the correct adapter

I have never removed a steering wheel, but I do know that those bolts are TIGHT. You will absolutely need a breaker bar.

if yours is a 83 it's easy, one bolt, with a airbag you will need aadapter.

A 3 bolt steering wheel puller makes the job alot easier...

Some steering wheels are a real bear to get off, I personally never delt with one that came off easy. I would totally recommend that you get a puller to remove the wheel. I'm not sure if they have those as part of the tool loaner program at the parts stores. Good luck. If your getting a Grant your probably going to need the adapter kit, grant makes that too.
