well, i gots to get me some rumbble

i went with a single in dual out set up with a flowmaster 40 series on my old truck, and it was great..

i am considering getting true duals on my new stang... can i just go strait out and not get a h pipe or y pipe? or whats the pro's and con's of that????

just cut the y pipe and go strait out with two mufflers and tails, oh by the way, i was gonna cut out two 3" holes in the bumper and have them come out the bumper instead of going under neath. and have just like an inch of the angle cut chrome tips stick out. dont know yet, have to look under neath?!?

has any one done that? how did it sound? hopw much $$$ did ya pay?

i just want the best sound, i want it to sound good, not like a moster truck... my truck sounded good, but it still sounded like a truck, oh and by the way it was a 4.2L v6...

thanks

I don't think H-pipes really do anything to help performance on sixers, do they?

It doesn't matter which one you get, its just whether you want an off-road one or high-flow catalytic one.

just so you know you really dont need an h pipe with fake dual exhaust (thats where you start the dual at the catalytic converter) but you do need an h pipe with true dual exhaust, with flowmaster, they usually sell you fake duals, so you dont need an h pipe i got the flowmaster force 2 system, and it sounds great, it doesnt sound like a truck, and it doesnt sound like a rice burner, i think its perfect for the v6. also with the true dual, the only reason you would do that is for more hp, and in that case you may want to find some headers too, with the v6 you should just be going for sound, so get the fake dual, screw the h pipe and just have it sound nice

i used to have a v6 stang and wanted that rumble sound because the mustang v6's sound weak i ran a complete flowmaster exhaust system and it hauled ass for a v6 and sounded pretty good too

Don't bother with the h or x pipe for your V6. It's a waist of money and our cars don't need them.

V6 Mustangs and X or H pipes aren;t needed. A waste of money and possibly a drop in performance.

Go true duals on a stainless steel setup.

Your best bet would be getting some long tube headers with the O2 sensors deleted (depending on where you live). Mil eliminators, or you may want to keep them and get longer wires for this as the exisiting ones may not be long enough. Longtubes are a PITA to install depending on the year Mustang you have.

You can either gut your existing cats if you go to a cat-back exhaust, or want to just bolt up a true dual system.

The other option in order to keep the cats, is to go with high flowing cats.

With no cats though, you can run a flame kit, good for melting front bumpers of tailgaters at a stop light!
