To Sump or Not

Have a 67 coupe that is between street/drag. I was wondering has anyone had a sump put in there gas tank ? I have to buy a new tank due to a small hole in the top and was thinking of this as an upgrade. Let me know what you think. Pro's and con's

have to put a new tank in my coupe. I have taken the old one out and was wondering, before I sit the new one in and screw it down is there something that goes between the tank and the section you sit it in. Or do I just sit the tank in a screw it down ? Has anyone put that tank armor plate in ?

Aeromotive makes a tank with a sump built in. It is rather expensive but I have heard nothing but good stuff about it. My 67 still runs the stock tank, and I haven't had any problems with fuel starvation, but I am going to modify a aluminum fuel cell to fit in the back.

thanks, that is all I wanted, looks like you are running some good numbers with that set up. I can spend the money for the sump on something else now.

You should install body caulking between the gas tank lip and the uni-body lip. Its black in color and sold in thin strips by "3M" company. Its seals water out and stops the sqeaking between two metal surfaces.
