I used to use Meguiers Deep Crystal 3 step process. Then I tried some Zaino and man that stuff is great. Way better shine that lasted longer.
Still do it by hand. Just something i like to do

maybe i should also consider Zaino? best thing i have ever used is 'the wax shops Safe Cut' and 'Meguiars step 3 carnuba'.

maybe zaino or Jeffs really IS that much better?

You have no idea how EASY it is to wipe Zaino off. Let it sit for 30 minutes, come back to it, and it still wipes off with little effort at all. I'd have no problem using Zaino or that Jeffs stuff any day (if the Jeffs comes off easy as well that is). It's a little spendier than some waxes but it pays off I think. What I usually do is, like I said, Zaino it 3x a year, and then once or twice a month during driving season I re-wash and wax it. Then the last wash of the year is with dish soap to clean the paint down to nothing but paint and then re-Zaino it for storage.

Plus it's nice pulling out a fresh shiny car after 4 months of not driving it

would u suggest their "Z-AIO All-in-one" ?

Zaino may not give your the best and deepest shine of all the products out there, but out of all the products out there, it is the easiest to put on and off, and lasts considerably longer than most. Did my car 2 weeks ago using the ZPC to get rid of the swirls, Z5, then the last coat of Z2, and think it came out pretty darn well:

Oh and I do everything by hand not b/c I think it's better, but b/c I'm too cheap to buy a PC. And since I only have to go through the whole process once a year, there is no point (usually an occasional coat of Z2, Z5 when I think about it or there is a special occasion coming up).

B/c I've never used a PC nor seen a difference vs. a car that has one, can't see how much better it could be, but they always say ignorance is bliss . I did everything in one day,

Initial wash/dry
Claybar
Second Wash/dry
ZPC
3rd Wash/dry

3 coats of Z5 with the Z6 in between

1 coat of Z2 the following day

The ZPC is great stuff b/c it's basically an idiot proof wetsanding. Got rid of a lot of clearcoat scratches and deep swirls. It was about an 8 hour process to go through it all (a lot of time was taken by waiting the 1/2 between the coats and going slow with the ZPC. Regardless, the work is worth the results and looking forward to see how your's comes out.

+1 that damn hoodscoop screws me everytime.. so i started taking a leaf blower to it and all the cracks where hood meets fender etc. So noooo water is left on that car.

+1 on the leaf blower! I used to get so ticked when I would dry the car by only to get back to the hood and have water running down it again either that or I use a shopvac. Works pretty good most of the time.

Well looks like I won't be washing it any time soon now...I gotta go up to the hospital to visit my nephew tonight which won't leave me enough time to do everything, then we have rain in the forecast every other day for the next week.

At least I'm prepared for the first week long stretch of sunshine.
