Too many electrical accessories to fit on starter relay?!@?$%

well. ive finally done it.

I was swapping to a mini high torque starter today. and when i went to swap the large guage wire to the other side of the relay... it wouldnt fit.

The post just isnt long enough to fit all my crap on it.
And no, i cant just throw them on the positive side of the battery, because thats in the hatch

Lets see.. ill try and list everything thats wired to the hot side of the relay
all the normal weird looking wires, plus.
electric fan
msd digital 6plus box
powermaster 140amp 1 wire alternator
switch panel for my ashtray(controls electric fan/water pump).
probably another thing or two that im forgetting.

Is there any place that sells relays that have extended posts?

or any ideas to help me out, so i dont have to rewire half of the car

can you consolidate any of the wires into a single larger gauge wire maybe?

OEM solenoids can have a longer stud than some aftermarket solenoids. So if compare yours to an OEM unit if you have an aftermarket one.

I have a distribution block I need to install - one would probably work for you too.

Someone makes an insulated stud that you can mount next to the relay or wherever is easiest and you can land all of your wire on it and then take a larger guage wire, i.e. battery cable, from it back to your starter relay. I am almost in the same boat as you and I need to get one. It will really clean up the area around the starter relay.

I think I'll be doing this one day soon. The sound system added alot of wire in that small area. Plus you could mount the block out of sight to really clean things up.

Is there anything that would be better than the car stereo distribution blocks?

That is what I have, but I certainlyam no audiophile, so I wouldnt know. I actually just got one for real cheap awhile back (just to have around) and figure it should work adequately for my needs.

If hiding it, I bet a nice one would do well. Or how about rewiring all the fusible links into an underhood fusebox, while doing that. (This is something I have planned to do for years but never got around too).
