Too Much End Play?

I am getting a whining noise from the rear drivers side of my GT 1997 Mustang - I do know the mother in Law is not in the back of the car :rlaugh:

It only happens when I do a left handed turn and sometimes when cruising slowly. I am pretty sure the noise is the brake rotor rubbing against the outside brake pad as the noise dissapears as soon as I apply the brakes.

My assumption is that this can only happen if I have developed too much endplay on the axle shaft, therefore forcing the rear rotor to push against the outer brake pad whenever I do a left hander.

Has anyone had this problem before?

What is the remedy? New Bearings? New C clips? Both?

BTW I recently fitted new rear calipers thinking the caliper slider was not centering the brake over the rotor correctly. This made no difference and I still have the noise.
