well,

i took my s281 (spec in sig) to the track yesterday and could only manage a 14.9 !!! This was my first time at a track ever and I am on road tyres but i cant get my 60' down below 2.2 due to spinning... plus i must be shifting like my grandma to get a trap speed of 93

I tried shifting at 6k, 5.kk and 5k. 5000 seemed to be best timing wise (on the autometer tach, not the regular "well, your probably doing about 5000rpm" guage in the cluster)

I'm gonna order a set of bfg d/r on 15" rims for the trach to try and get that 60' down but has anyone got any ideas? tips?

I'm gonna also get the car to a dyno tomorow and see exactly what its doing, as a buddy over here has a 2001 gt stock except for 4.10s and he runs 14.6 !!

i think i need to replacce my right arm with an automatic gearbox

The 93 mph trap speed shows your car is down in power. It should trap higher. Your 60 ft. obviously indicates lack of traction. Some drag radials may improve your time but not the trap speed. I used to clock 14.6s @ 98 mph with my stock '87 LX hatch back with nothing more that a K&N air filter, Flowmaster mufflers and bump in timing (the car still had street tires and 2.73 gears).

id have thought it was down in power.. therefor equating to lower trap speed, but the car feels so quick on the road...

i guess the dyno will tell all.....

if you're running a Novi 2000 i'd say you're way down on power or driving. that thing should be hauling balls at a pretty good clip down the track.

You better have that thing checked out, something is seriously wrong with it, i trapped at like 95 in my saleen explorer. with a 2.2 60ft. (never brake boosted i planned on testing a whole bunch of theories but a few blown engines on the track pissed me off so i went home, i'm sure i could get the 60 to about 1.9)

Definately sounds like something wrong. My heavy-ass convertible ran 13.19 at 107 with the Chicane pulley, 255 fuel pump and a Superchip. Your's should definately be quicker. Did you watch the fuel pressure gauge, is it holding pressure?

yeah, the boost is holding and so is the fuel, the afr shows slightly rich....

i spoke to the dude that built the engine for the previous owner today, he said he had to pull a load of timing out to stop it det'ing.

Ive got a set of longtubes and pi heads in the garage but i might wait till i get my new MPH/kenne bell motor an t-56

Man thats waaaay off... I ran mine with a gtec (pretty accurate to 2'10ths of a second) I ran a 14.9 at 105 at 4000ft altitude with street tires spinning and NO traction, I also backed out of the throttle. I dont have near the mods you do heres mine:
Series II Blower
Chicane Pulley
Chican RIP kit
3:73 Gears
Saleen Flash.
With traction and a track setting I would expect a high 13 or low 14's
