I’d like to bump one of my favorite threads on this forum with a question.

I’m looking into a cordless electric ratchet. Any recommendations?

Interesting video.
I'm a big milwaukee fan. Have quite a few of their tools for work and home.
With that said, i have not been impressed with some of the m12 tools. So i'm not surprised by those results.
I have the m12 ratchet (non impact) and i don't find it to be all that useful. If you are assembling something like a wheel barrel, table etc, it's great, but for bolts that have been on a car, pretty much forget it.
The small m12 batteries are useless in the majority of tools. I mainly use them in flashlights, laser plumb bob and the small hex impact driver (which is probably my most used tool).
So if you buy m12 tools, only purchase when they come with a free upgraded battery (which is very common) i'm not sure how much more power they give you, but from using my m12 hackzall all the time, i can tell you it's alot.
Just keep in mind, if a tool has an 18v version, opt for those instead, which for the most part, i find unstoppable.

I did purchased this m12 tool recently and i love it.

M12™ Compact Inflator Kit | Milwaukee Tool

MILWAUKEE® M12™ Compact Inflator delivers fast, accurate, easy inflation with the portability to take anywhere. The M12™ Compact Inflator gives users ultimate power and efficiency
www.milwaukeetool.com
I haven't used it to fill a car tire yet, but i'm told it works good, but i've used it on all types of sporting goods and yard equipment.
My extremely loud 30 gallon air compressor is getting less and less use, which is fine with me.

Dang that Kobalt unit seems pretty good. I was thinking impact, but 250 ft/lbs is pretty impressive.
Any impact comparable?

Watch the video to the end, he's got a list of pneumatic and battery-operated over a decent score system.

He does an [lot] of testing on his channel. You'll probably find most of the main brands in his list of videos.

I just happened to choose this one to watch as it popped into my feed:

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4N12Wsl5es&ab_channel=TorqueTestChannel

For cordless, 1/2 inch, impact - They rate the BOSCH with an 8ah battery to be the best overall. They also said that Milwaukee had even more beans with a 12 ah battery.

I have a no-name Chinese BLMIATKO. I've never seen them test it. It "claims" 1900 nm which is 1400 ft/lbs. In my own non-lab, unscientific, working environment, I have used my BLMIATKO to break bolts off that the Milwaukee wouldn't touch. Just rat-a-tat-tat-tat-tat...

When I discovered that Milwaukee brushless tools are all made in China, I decided to skip the middle man. I paid a lot less. I ordered a generic (type-specific, of course) charger and two 6 ah batteries. Admittedly, the handle is bit on the small side. I fattened it up with a leather wrap. Now it's for uh... normal/larger hands.

By the way... Those ratchets we were looking at before also impact (not sure if that was clear). You can get electric ratchets and drills that are [not] impact but I find that those are mostly just good for making holes.

Now, I do have an electric ratchet that is [not] impact. It's 3/8s and operates like a cordless drill would. I would say that it is "meh". It's good for driving but you pretty much gotta break everything loose with a tool and use it only to drive in/out. For automotive work... ratchet or otherwise... Better to go impact unless you're trying to make a hole.

My folks gave me one of these for Christmas. I haven't had a chance to use it yet but plan to when putting the cooling system back together.

Or...you could just get one of these. The OEM's have been using these for years. It does the same thing without all the theatrics...

I sniped a lot of miscellaneous hand tools from ebay and they just got here. $23 I spent and the mix included quite a few quality american made stuff including SK and Craftsman. All in all it was a big win for the price. One thing for sure is I'm really ready for big time action with my 1/4" breaker bar.

My dad had a real nice 1/4” SK socket set in the green metal case. He had it as long as I can remember learning what tools were. My brother is still using it today!! I acquired a ton of his vintage Craftsman stuff. They definitely don’t make em like they used to!

So I received this Milwaukee socket set for christmas. (to be clear i'm a milwaukee tools fan)
It's only 1/4 and 3/8.
Kinda pricey like $300.
Admittedly i do make a bit of a mess in my socket drawer and i also like to carry to a case to where i am, not go back and forth to the box a hundred times.
It's damn solid in this case.
The square side of the sockets mean they don't roll, and it's not a gimmick, it does help. (only downside is that i often try to put a socket on the ratchet backwards)
It's easy to find where they go back in place.
1/2 would have been nice but i guess it is what it is.
Overall i love it.
I do have other Packout cases, but they are kept in my work van, not in my garage, so i haven't tried latching them together.

Portable ratchet sets are always a good buy but that whole [Pack Out] thing puts it over the top. I love those boxes. I may not buy another big rolling cabinet again.

I've always liked keeping tools in kit form. I have some of those things set up for hardware and electrical doodads too. I keep the large-wheeled unit strapped down in the Burban and just lock the stuff to it that I need to take on the road.

....and now you tempt me with a prebuilt socket set in this same system? Damn.
