Hey guys, getting together my tools/parts needed for a floorpan replacement, and was wondering what tools your guys really liked/needed besides a welder/spot weld cutter? Sawzal or metal sheer? Most sheers seem to claim they only cut up to 18 gauge, and some repo floors are 16 gauge? Wonder how many levels over the advertised gauge sheers/nibblers can go?

plasma cutter!

i've used a 4 1/2 inch angle grinder with a cutting wheel attachment, or a die cutter for an air compressor. either works fine.

also a hammer, some c-clamps, and a metal chisel to get those seat risers off.

Plasma cutter rules. But not always on hand. The shop owns the one we have. The big cutting wheel is a great idea. I use an air chisel on the larger spot welds and long as they come off easy. THe ones that the spotwelder leaned on I grind off. If you use an air chisel inside the car, make sure you put some ear muffs on. After an hour or so without it, you will be responding to everyone with "WHAT?"
