What did the terminator do for the Mustang world??? It was a DOHC motor they tossed a blower one. The Cobra already had DOHC 4.6s, already had IRS, already had every option the terminator had minus the blower.... Why should that make the list of influential Mustangs? It didn't do much, only sold for two years and has to be the one you will see the most.
Now I don't agree with that list 100%, but a 1979 fox should be on there LONG before the terminator.
I guess I would have to say, I would put it on the list cuz it was the last time someone that works for a living could afford a Mustang that could run with almost anything run off a production line in the whole world. The next GT500, well, the numbers sound great, til you get to the curbweight, and the pricetag. That $ gets me a helluva Porsche. The inventors in 64 (Caroll Shelby being one of them)had the word affordable in their plan. The 79 was a good start, but, imo, the first injected 5.0's made more of a difference in the whole Fox scheme, especially the notch. They made Ford bother to create the next gens rear wheel drive, cuz they wanted the 93/94 to be a Probe, til we bought so many of the late 80's 5.0's
Yes its a special edition. It is called a 7-UP 5.0. Only a little over 3500 made and only 1500 with 5-speeds. I have one with 5-speed. Its an all white interior and doesn't have a center arm rest/ console.
