raph130 said:by looking at what rpm i am at in gear. your friends 2.3l is out of tune. my friend got a $400 ticket for doing 120mph in his 4 banger. you oviously dont know anything about aerodynamics. why does everyone thing the fox body has a problem with speed? ours oviously doesn't if we can hit over 150mph. the car was designed to handle that speed and attain it.

YOUR car can not do 167mph and neither can your friends car with ya'lls mods...sorry it is just a fact...quit using calculators and factor real world physics into it...aerodynamics...not what it can do on a dyno theoretically...
real world phsyics, heres a bit of real world physics, my car can ond does hit 6000rpms in fifth gear on the highway, the only arguable factor in that statement is the accuracy of the calculator in question, neither raph or myself just sat down one day and said hey, what if we could hit 6000 rpms in fifth what would the theoretical top speed be, this was not the case, the case was "holy **** I just broke 6k rpms in fifth, lemme see how fast that should be" aerodynamics don't play a role in rpm to speed calculations, unless you have bad enough aero that your driven wheels have lifted off the ground and your engine is revving free.
raph130 said:your a retard. i guess 2+2=10 to you. i choose to risk my life if i wanna go that fast. i never encounter anyone at 3am on the highway when i choose to go fast. it only takes a matter of secs to reach 150mph or more.
If your gettin a turbo I would go 355's,or maybe 373'sneed a fast car said:DAMN look what I started LOL! 90lxcoupe is right, it almost like it a rule or a understanding that 4.10's are the steepest gear to go. I will probably never go to 150 mph, so having gears that will go 190 mph makes no sence If i'm never going to go that fast. why not just go to 140 but get there really fast. thanks for those sites guys. I would probably use 4.10's or possibly 4.30's when I get a turbo but that will be later on down the road.
need a fast car said:no way in hell I would put 3.55's in my car. dont flame but my old car.........a 91 240SX with a turbo charged engine running 12lb's. the car didn't make much power above 5500 and the car came stock with 4.10's (like 4.012 something). I was going to put 4.6's in it. that way I could utilize my 4th and 5th gear instead of staying in 3rd forever. YES I do understand that the gearing in the tranny is different and the engine has no torque, but the concept is still the same.plus lets say if you had like a t67 that spooled around 3k ish those gears would just through you right in your power band. imagine 3rd and 4th gear in a car with a t67 and 4.30'sgetting ready to order that pro bullet!
need a fast car said:geting MM starter pack lca's and full subs. with the turbo I'm wanting to run and with the engine I will make power till about 6500. 4.30's sound nice! as far as the tranny If and yes when my 3550 bites the dust time for TKO.
