Torque Box Damage, how bad?

Time to toss the body in the junk yard, your torque boxes are literly missing, who cut them out, where did they go.... Right now the arm is maybe held on by a few spot welds.

I wouldn't even drive the car like that.... I hope this post was a joke

That really shouldnt take much time or money to fix. Im sure u could get yourself some 1/8 inch steel and fab somthing up quite easily. I know Rick91GT and Perkys stang both are knowledgable people and would probably agree that it can be fixed. I would never sell the car for such a small problem like that. Just my opinion.

Throwing it in the junk yard was a comment to get reaction...come on guys. Those boxes are by far the worst I have ever seen or delt with.

The bolt was totally ripped from the frame and the outside box portion is totally missing.

SSM use to sell a adjustable, fully replaceable TQ box, this is what you need or you will need to have a set similar to the stock ones fabricated. They must be installed perfect and true or you will have suspension issues. Rumor has it, Lakewood/Mr.Gasket bought SSM, try contacting Lakewood to see what you can find out.

The torque boxes, those are those boxes-like structures located right after the underside backseat part of the floorpans just before the rear tires right? I take it on the photo where the control arm bolts to the chassie would be "encased" by these box like metal structure?

Just curious guys, what does it take to do the torque boxes in like that ? Too much RWHP, slicks, drag racing, all the above and more ?? Or is it just a weakness that can happen to any Fox body with time ? Good luck on a fix, Smok3 .

I also wanted to know how causes a torque box to break? Also, the torque box is the upper portion of the upper control arm, correct?
