I have a 72 coupe with a toe extension which has rusted through the top section of the PS torque box. The location of the "rustectomy" is along the ps interior just below the cowl and heater box.
The question is this, the drive train is still in the car. Can I complete the repair with the car carefully supported with jack stands under the frame rails all the way around. The ps floor has already been removed completely. Has anyone done such a repair on their own? I am a beginner welder. Should this type of repair be done by a qualified shop or can I attempt this on my own? I have the replacement parts which I harvested from a donor car.
Thanks.
