this may be a stupid question, but im planning on replacing the upp/lower control arms on my car and wanted to know if i could reinforce the torque boxes while everything else is bolted up?

Is there anything i should do while i have the upper and lower controls arms off ?

Usually on the torque boxes you'll not find a weld any longer than 1/2"...most of them were 'spot/tac' welded (although I have seen them welded fully from the factory). It's always a good idea if you remove the control arms to weld up the boxes. Once you clean them really good..you'll be able to see the gaps between the factory welds. All the gaps need to be filled...

Hope this helps!

Does anyone have pics of the torque boxes/where exactly they need to be welded? I think mine are cracked.
