this may be a stupid question, but im planning on replacing the upp/lower control arms on my car and wanted to know if i could reinforce the torque boxes while everything else is bolted up?

Is there anything i should do while i have the upper and lower controls arms off ?

Usually on the torque boxes you'll not find a weld any longer than 1/2"...most of them were 'spot/tac' welded (although I have seen them welded fully from the factory). It's always a good idea if you remove the control arms to weld up the boxes. Once you clean them really good..you'll be able to see the gaps between the factory welds. All the gaps need to be filled...

Hope this helps!

I dont have pictures handy but I can get some. i would install some reinforcements while youa r eint here. wild rides racecars sells nice set with easy to follow instructions and then you will never have to worry about them again. i willt ry tog et some pics of my torque boxes later.
