Has anyone made there own upper and lower Torque boxes

Probably not. Lots of folks have made torque box reinforcements though.

I didn't make them, but I had a set given to me that someone else made. I ended up using them for welding practice.

There are couple companies out there that make some beefy replacements. I think most folks try and repair existing with reinforcements.

Here's what a replacement torque box would look like:

You can find those in ebay. They're made by Wild Rides.

Because of your question, I went and looked around a little bit to see what turned up. This is new to me. I have not seen these before:

This looks like it would require some better than average welding skills so as to not warp the sub-frames.

The Wild Rides version can be done on the garage floor.

I have used 1/8" steel plate to reinforce the boxes on my last mustang. Plan to do the same with my fox. Doesn't look as good as those pictured above but held sturdy for launches on slicks behind a supercharged motor

Yeah, the ones you see above are replacements, not reinforcements.

The wild rides upper S box is really nice.
Price is lower now than it used to be. Old price was like $550.

I have Wild Rides on mine im happy with, way back when Rick from RNH perf. was doing work on my car i remember him telling me he made them but i already had the wild rides on mine.

I have the wild rides box in my car and while it's ok, there are better options out there now.

Definitely all three choices you show are better, more $ and maybe longer installs but you get what ya pay for and with your car i would run the better stuff for sure

Wait a minute... Are we building a funny car?

The purpose of the Wild Rides is replacement without having to destroy half the car to do it or measure your own angles with a chassis jig.

There are perhaps 6 people on this entire forum that could do a proper install of the ones T-Top listed. I've seen a couple hack jobs too. You know the ones... The wheels are straight but car isn't.

The top link maybe... Everything else. GTFO a here.

Dated or not, I've done a little bit of shade-tree wrenching... I gotta wonder what is actually required for the install on those. I have to imagine it's more than hold, turn your head, and zap.

It's more like jig the car, plot the suspension down to the floor and verify point to point measurements, tack new parts, check geometry, take more point to point measurements, make bracing to hold everything square while you weld, weld, weld some more, keep welding, tie components to roll cage, un jig car and do wheelies...
