Symptoms: When I start it up on a cold day, I have to sit there for a minute or two before I shift the car into D. If I do it before the converter builds pressure it will hessitate before shifting into drive. Once the car warms up it shifts fine under normal driving conditions.

But if I jump on it, from a stand still it will hold 2nd to long (will hit the rev limiter) and I have to release the gas pedal and then get back into it before it changes gears. After that it good. I also noticed some oil under my engine that may be from the TC leaking..

Guys what does this sound like to you?

Eh...

Don't really think it's the torque converter. If it were the torque converter going, you'd have symptoms more like trying to drive a manual with the clutch pressed in and then only letting it partially out- ie hitting the gas from a stop and the car won't move, then it catches and you jolt forward.

As for oil, the torque converter is part of the engine and is filled with transmission fluid. It's not likely to leak either.

Check the fluid level and coindition of the fluid in the trans. I would bet $$ it is either low or it is bad.

I agree with these two. IF it's not the fluid low or bad (smells burnt).... it would probably be the pump before the TC.

Is the oil... red or black when you swipe in on a white rag?

I will check it out today, But Swarzkorf nail with the hitting the gas and then it catches.. I think I'm going to order my new torque converter 3000rpm and have the filter and fluids changed.

Yup, if it's slipping then catching from a stop, it's the converter for sure. Go ahead and get yourself an Edge piece!
