I am about to order a new convertor from summit and i need some advice on which stall to go with in my cougar
2000 or 2400
heres my setup
1968 c4 TCI super pro rebuild wth scat valvebody
302 stock block, long tubes, edelbrock performer RPM intake with a holley 600 cfm, 3.55 rear
used for mainly street driving with the occasional trip to the track

any help would be appreciated,

What cam? It sounds like either a stock converter or the 2000 stall will work for you.

You didn't post cam specs.. the most important consideration when picking a stall speed is the camshaft profile.

Then I'd suggest the 2000rpm converter.

What stall would you recommend for a ford E303 cam? the lift on the cam is .498" duration 282 and 220. peak tor. 2500 peak bhp 5500.

E303, isn't that for a roller motor?

From your post it looks like the E303 has a 220 duration at 0.05" lift. If that's correct, then I would consider this a mild to medium cam as far as agresivness is concerned.

It depends on what you plan to do with the car, but I'd reccomend something between 2000 and 2500 rpm depending on how agressive you want to get.

I run a 2600rpm stall with a 228* @ 0.05" with mostly street driving and the odd trip to the track. It seems to be just about perfect for what I want..

I'd consult with your cam manufacturer to see what they reccomend.
