TPS Sensor can't be removed!!!

Alright, I bought a Granatelli plenum and a BBK 75mm throttle body to put on my stang. I however cannot get one of the screws out for the TPS sensor. I had to use a pair of vise grips just get the one out and that doesn't even work on the other one. It just keeps tearing it up more. Any idea's??? How much for a new TPS ??

I think new TPS is like 50bucks from advanced Auto. It wasn't that expensive

I took mine to work and had one of our mechanics take out the screw. Put the TB in a vise and used a screwdriver with a good bite. The locktite is what holds it in place and is why it is so hard to remove.

because if TPS screw loosen, and TPS move, it'll do all sorts of funky thing

You can heat the screw to melt the locktite but you may melt the sensor too...I'd try a soldering iron if you have one. Maybve spray the piss out of it with some PBBlaster or something.

i taped up the connection port and sprayed it with wd40. didn't work

Two suggestions:

1. Use a pair of good diagonal cutters. Come at the stuck screw head on (not perpindicular to it) and squeeze the cutters so that they bite right into the sides of the head at the center. While keeping the cutters pinched tightly, see if you can break the screw loose.

2. Use a dremel tool with a cut-off wheel and simply cut the head right off the screw.

Lucky for me, I was able to free both screws without too much pain when I upgraded my T/B.

I used a dremel to cut a deep thick slot so I could use a flathead screwdriver. I have a "T" type tool that has a flat head on it and you can really get some torque on the screw.
