just bought a t3650 for my 97 cobra. I am putting the fluid in and I wanted to know how much I am supposed to put in? I have seen andywhere between 3-4 quarts. I put 3.75 quarts in. I have also heard fill it till it runs out the hole. Anyone have a # I can go by? THANKS
Ford originally spec'd the fill level to 3.6liters.
Next Tremec was saying put in 3.2liters.
Later a TSB was released for the 3650 because of the grinding in 1-2 on cold starts. The fix was replacing some synchros and such and using a fill rate of 3.0liters.
In my opinion...you should try a fill of 3.2-3.4L. I would say that 3.75qt is just a bit too much - though it is within the original ford spec... I had a bit of a grind/roughness in 1/2 before switchint to 3.3L of Mobil 1 ATF last winter.
