Goin to the track sunday and was advised to buy some track bite. I read that its just sprayed on the tires but is a slight burnout required afterwards? Also how much needs to be sprayed on?

Most (good) tracks spray that stuff down anyways. Even on test and tune nights, I see them putting it down at least 5 or 6 times a night. I've personally never seen anyone putting it on their own tires, that I've noticed.

If you were to get some VHT, you'd want to just lightly mist the tires. But it's pretty dark expensive.

Well dark, this is an old track I don't think they spray it with vht. Last time I was there the only thing I saw them spray on the track was water in the box for burnouts. I've seen people splash something on the track then burnout on it? Is that vht? There's a local spot in town that sells a gallon of it for 25 which I don't think is to bad IF it indeed does help lower 60' times. Hopefully it doesn't just bog my weak stock 4.6l lol

Put the VHT into a spray bottle( Windex ). When spraying the tires, either lift the rear end and rotate the tires as you spray them or move the car ahead to spray the missed areas. You want equal VHT on the entire tread area of the tire. You want the thread area entirely coated. When you do the burnout, avoid using the waterbox and do one for no more than 10 seconds.

IMO, lifting the car up and spraying the tires is easier. Use the spray nozzle and not the stream. You don't want this stuff on to thick, just a light coating.

I totally understand why you want to use the VHT. The track I go to only uses it for the actual racing events and T&Ts. For the street legal nights and other non sponsored racing they do not. It is a very hard track to get a good launch on.

I have a friend that sprayed his driveway with that stuff lol..

If you use it, tape your fenders. It is a bitch to get VHT off of your paint.

Well then I can see my you might consider it. If you have a friend go with you, they can spray the tires for you as you pull into the burnout area.

To make it go further, you can cut it with methanol, especially if it's the concentrated formula that they sell in big barrels to tracks.
