With the mods i have i should be in the 13s...but im not :bang:
anyway, what are you guys shifting at? i know the stock tach probably isnt too accurate when running it at the track, revving it that fast. But what has worked for the rest of you guys?

by the way im replacing my flowmaster catback with a magnaflow catback before i go back to the track. i doubt that will really make a difference though.

last question...will a dirty k&n filter lead to worse times, or should it not change.

you know what after putting my gears in a ran a best of 14.1 @ 98.26. just gotta learn to drive it better(which i need to do cause i spun to much). I've heard people say 5k, 5.3k , 5.5k to shift. I would probely say between 5k and 5.2k just becasueyou get most of your power mid 3k and shouldnt have much more up in the 5k's so might as well shift yourself into the powerband. I was very dissapointed by not having a 13 1/4. I'm adding a prochamber then heading back up there.

well at 2500ft elevation with a filter and catted hpipe I went 14.2 shifting at 5700 out of 1st and about 5600 into 3rd.

I would definately be shifting higher than 5k though. Especially if I had 4.10's!

Well I'm running with the stock goodyears...which have about 22000 miles on them. My 60ft times are horrible, 2.2,2.3 I didn't pul 1 2.1 or 2.0 the 7 runs a I had. And it spins so bad in second. How can a change the 1-2 shift so that it doesn't spin so much.

The flowmaster catback drones too much for me I drive about 30-45 miles on the highway everyday to work, then another 30 on the way home.

Well tires are your problem. Get some nittos or bfg drag radials. That will help you from spinning on your shifts too. I run a 315 drag radial so there's no spin for me. Also i see you live in St. Louis so I assume you are going to gateway. Gateway does not hook very well.

5500 rpm is good shift points..to get your 60ft down you need to learn to slip the clutch. I'm running all season michelin pilots which are for ***** at the track but I was able to pull a 1.98 60ft with them by learning to slip the hell outta the clutch.

I've got a 13.8 with just my mods in my sig and I know if I can practice a bit more I can knock another .1 off maybe more. You just gotta practice alot, before making any more changes to the car you should be trying to get the most out of every mod. From your mods I'd say you should be at least a 13.6 or better.

Good luck man :nice:

I shift at 6000 rpm  ,and ran the best of 14.1 at 101 mph with 2.22 60 ft. times. The only mods were mac h pipe with cats, flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers, cai :notnice: ,and factory 3.27 gears with stock gator backs!!...Oh,and also with eibach sportline springs!
So what you guys are saying is that if i shift at 5500 rpm,i should be faster. :(
I know have 3.73's ,and steeda timing adjuster, and still need to run with these new additions,i will toy around with different shift points to see the difference. :) I am now courious :D !

5500 rpms in the bullitt. anything higher and it feels like the engine is runnout outta power. (which it is) reving it to 5900-6000 is not nessesary, as power drops off heavily in that rpm range. also, by shifting at 5500, you will be in the sweet part of the power curve (about 3300 rpms) when you hit the next gear.
