well i finally made it to the track today and got in a few runs. i was a bit dissappointed with my driving (RT & 60 ft times) but i think the car did ok overall. i was a bit confused about my MPH though. i raced a Talon (smoked him) who ran a 16.4 @ 101.24mph, and I ran a 13.8 @ 100.75mph. i think my MPH should be a little higher. what kind of things change MPH? here's my entire slip:

RT- .272
60'- 2.157
330'- 5.878
1/8- 8.937
MPH- 80.92
1000'- 11.586
1/4- 13.824
MPH- 100.75

damn that talon lack traction or what, thats a really high et for such a high mph, as for you... is everything running as should? your 60' could be better but isnt terrible, are u on street tires? i pulled a 2.0 on my "remingtons" at 40psi, just takes practice... with some drag radials and a 1.7 or 1.8 the et should come down nicely

More horsepower will increase your trap speed. That Talon had a higher power to weight ratio since his trap speed was higher, but the driver is a knucklehead and couldnt race to save his life

the talon was stripped bare on the inside and a turbo/ nitrous setup. must've been a retard... anyway... my car seems to be running fine... i don't have it completely back together yet (interior) so it's not that heavy. it seems to run good. i am running really crappy street tires with 30psi. they're 17x8 cobra R's but the tires don't get crap for traction. they even sprayed down the track for the slicks class. any more off the line and they break loose.

The talon had no traction off the line and probably going through the gears. Before I would run 101 mph at 14.5. Then I learned how to launch my car. Your mph seems about right for a car on street tires, mine is about there also. More practice is what you need.....

WTF, why does everyone seem so concerned with the tallon?

I think your times could be better. First of all I would do somethign about the traction. If you could come off the line at full power that would really help as well. 2.1 is unacceptable. I would work on traction until your 60 is at 1.8 or better. A 1.8 60ft would put you in the 13.1-13.2 range.

I have never heard of something running 16 anything at 100+mph unless it was a very fast car that let off.
