Trackday

looks like a porsche convention...tough competition

Well , in fact there were lots of cars , including :
20 or more mx5 in a drift session , 15 or so lotus elise , many subaru and mitsu also for drift , and 6 sessions of non road going cars (track only) .

Since the stang is high in hp and displacement , I was in the supercar session . A silver 360 Modena (ferrari) has gone out and totaled during the session , but he was a really bad driver : braking too early , entering the bends at wrong angle , accellerating too early ... horrible - I stood away from him , and so did the rest of the group ...
Anyway , the porsche here is quite common as track car , and porsche people are cool and simple : the white one is a gt3 and his owner gave me many important advices :D
I had a great time in the 25 minutes on the track of my session : I tested the mods made and they perform great (C&L + SCT2 tune for 95 octane :nice: ) , the car is totally different now . Two of the porsche drivers were newbies as me so the rest of the group respected us and we had lot of fun .
Since mine was the only stang , many did not know the car : even people in the porsche group thought it was a 2.5 L with 180 HP or so , but on the straight part of the circuit where I could WOT without risk of errors they were like :jaw:

After my session I made some little videos and photos , maybe I can post something more .

Bye

Steel, where are you from/ what track was this at? From the picture, it looks like the cars are wearing European plates. I want to get my Stang out on a track, but I'm not aware of any track day programs near me in Ohio. I'm sure they exist, but they're not advertised too well (at all!).

Hi
well , I'm from Modena , in Italy - a true petrolhead country . I live in the middle of the speed triangle :
Modena - Ferrari and Maserati
Campogalliano (Mo) - Bugatti
Bologna - Lamborghini and Ducati (bikes)

Yesterday I went to a small circuit about 60 miles from Modena - here's the link :
http://www.varano.it/cgi-bin/home.pl

The track is normally quite empty , about 30 cars a day making tests or runs , but yesterday there were about 1000 cars divided in groups of 25 for 25 minutes runs .
The cost is quite low , about 33 dollars per run .
The track is not big but with challenging bends , a small parabolic etc - I like it a lot , especially because you can rent the whole track for yourself only on certain days for an hour at a low cost .

The priceless thing are people : simple and technically prepared :nice:

Wish you good luck with your searc : let me know about american tracks , I'm very curious .
