Hello, my name is Austin and I am realitivly new to the V6 crowd. My question is there any way to put traction lock in the V6 rearend, or do you have to switch over to the V8 8.8 rear? Thanks a bunch.

gefracing sells em for $169. I believe with a '98 you'd just have to get a speedo gear as I did which costs $15 from Steeda. I actually got a rebuilt one from the guy I had install my gears. Depending on what you wanna do, it might not be more than $500 for everything.

First of all, thanks for all of your help. But I am wondering if anyone can confirm that a speedo gear will correctly set my speedometer, and I will not have to get a chip or do anything else.

NO. The speedo gear will only get you CLOSER to the speed you are actually going. At speedo reading 65mph, you are only going 60mph.

You will have to pull your gauge pod face plate off and reposition your speedo needle. Use your fingers and just pull the needle off from the round black piece.

You can either have a friend pace you or go find oneof those road side MPH info trailers. I prefer to have a friend pace me. Also have someone else in the car with you to watch the traffic as you drive.

Find a nice quiet stretch of highway and have you and your pace car frined set the cruise at 65mph. Put your needle back on gently, not pushing it on all the way, at that speed when you are going the at the same pace. Also pull the 0 mph stop out, and when you stop the car and turn it off, push it the rest of the way on.

Go out and check your needle palcement again by having your frined pace you at the agreed upon speed again.

Or do what I did, find a speed trap and let them know your speedo is off!
