traction lock optional ?

Well I am gonna get some 3.73 and am getting some prices to get it done and rebuild the trac lock. it spins one tire real bad, but I am being told the trac lock was an option on v8 cars, I thought it was standard on all v8s. So how can I tell if its wore out or just not there. I looked at the tag on the cover and it didnt have a T anywhere on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming its the 93 in your sig....it has it. All the 87+ ones had it. Not sure about the ones before. Its just time to rebuild it.

Yeah its the 93 LX in my sig. I was pretty sure they were standard since 87 or 86 when the mustangs got the 8.8. I was just startled by two shops wanting to charge me for a new limited slip differential, when I could just get a rebuild kit But on the other hand the car has been wrecked before, is there any way I could tell?

Sounds like it is time for a rebuild. It is really easy to do.

Good then Ill have it done with my 3.73s . it will be good to use BOTH of my new MT drag radials

even the 7.5 inch rear ends have trac lock. I know for sure mine does.

Most 7.5's dont though.

I had a 4 cyl 88 with a 7.5 cylinder for dirt track racing before my current mustang and it had traction lock too.
