I really needed a truck since Im remodeling a house I bought a few months ago and I just havnt had time to take care of one mustang, much less two with grad school, working 50 hrs a week and working on the house. So after much heartache and sobbing, I had to choose either the 5.0 to sell or the Mach. When it came down to it, I just couldnt sell the 5.0. I've had it for 7 years now and put way to much blood sweat and cuss words into it to sell it. I decided if I sold the Mach, I would buy a new truck and if I sold the 5.0 I would get a used beater truck.

So...........
Heres my new 2007 XLT-Ranger. Its pretty nice, it has most of the options except for leather, and 4 wheel drive. But I figured why spend an extra couple grand for something I might use 3 days/yr here in the south. Its the 4 door model with the 3.0 v-6. I guess it's the right thing to do, but I sure do miss the Mach 1. I'll have one again someday. Maybe in 10 years or so. If not, Ill be one of those old guys telling about how they had some badass old car that they sold for a minivan or truck. Oh well, here are the manditory pics

Have you seen the price of a Mach 1 recently.....there value is down the crapper. Check out mach1registry, there is a guy trying to sell his with the same mileage as mine and he hasnt had an offer at 13.5k. I got 16.5k so I made out well. How is it a poor ass trade if I wanted the truck?

As a side note....I found out why Ford is going down the crapper. I just noticed today that one whole streak down the passeneger side was never painted....it's gray....wtf! A dozen or more people have looked at the truck and no one noticed it. It looks obvious from the pics but I had to point it out to everyone thats seen it. All the dealer will do is repaint it. I dont want a repainted truck.....I paid top dollar for a new truck not a repainted one. The customer service center is only open on m-f so I have to call them on monday.....man am I pissed

Yeah Machs are going for low $20s around here. My friend had one for $16000 only because it had a salvage title!

True.

I couldn't have a truck...especially a new truck. I'd be pissed the first time a brick hit the side or a branch scraped the tailgate.

That sucks... I had a 97 ranger I bought brand new and it had the same problem and it was a black truck as well.

I guess if you have to drive it every day, and have to have certain reliabilty I could see buying the Ranger, but with been there done that, I would have faired better by buying a beater truck to just throw sht in; live and learn.

Shoot Menards and home depot rent trucks for 19.95 an hour up here.

cool i bought a ranger in the fall and i love it, the 4x4 is really nice. took mine off road at my uncles cabin and i could go anywhere my uncle went with his 2005 chev 1500 4x4, plus some places he couldn't cause his truck was too big (quad trails) he kickes my ass for hauling stuff though lol. i love mine as a daily driver

you'll be happy with it (aside from the paint thing, which is really weird) its nice to have a truck when your building **** or going to the lake. just watch out cause whenever someone needs to move something they will be calling you lol, my going rate for moving stuff is a case of beer

he may be like me and simply doesn't need a truck that can haul more. when i was looking for a truck i looked at f150's (even some 250's) and rangers. i seen alot of nice F150 but in the end i decided i don't need a full size truck right now, i just need one that can take me through the trails to get close our secret fishing spots (no land access and using OLD logging roads) plus the extra gas milage i get with my ranger is nice

Exactly....I did look at full sized, mid sized trucks from Ford, Chevy and Toyota. And for the price and what I would use it for, the ranger fit best. I had a jeep with a tow hitch and some huge amount it was supposed to be able to tow and I never used it. I dont know why it would be any different, I dont have a boat, jet ski, etc. I really dont see spending all that extra money for something I'd use maybe once or twice a year. Aside from the paint thing I really love the truck. Its a blast to drive

I would put money on the the dealership damaging the truck and improperly repairing it. Dealers are paid to do PDI and if they missed that from the factory they need to be fired.
