Another professional student.
Have CADD/Tech. Illustrator degree. 6 classes away from Bachelor of Pro. Arts. Going into Computer Integrated Design next year. Plus plans for more after that.
Right now I'm not doing any classes, so I'm working as a draftperson at a playground manufacturer (I put together pretty 3D models) and a cashier at night (which is not as cool as a superhero).

I am an Operations Controller for an Engineering Polymers firm. Basically, i make the plastic that goes into most peoples cars. Before that i was an Auto Tech for ten years.

i am a semi and trailer mechanic for a small company owned buy my moms boyfreind im the only one in the shop keep 10 rigs and 30 trailers going never a boring job after work oi am a handy man do just about whatever needs be from mechanic to small electrical and excavating oh yeah weld all the local teenagers atvs frames back together after they break them keeps me pretty busy

Was a Turboprop/shaft Engine and Propeller rebuild tech in the USAF. I got to spend YOUR tax money at WILL! Pretty cool playing with multi-million dollar 3500hp jet engines and watching them at work!
Now I work for the City of Vancouver in the Street Dept. asphault paving/constructing roads. Quite a flipside in jobs and not really all that fun, but pays really good considering I'm just a HS graduate. I'm also that guy in the snowplow that buries your driveway and car as I tear down the street at 45mph, and sander whailin!

Truck driver for a contract mail carrier. I have a degree in Mec engineering but can't stand to be couped up inside all day. It's not exactly a professional job but I have managed to log over a million accident free miles in every kind of weather you can imagine.

I'm a software engineer. I work designing and implementing the diagnostics that go on heavy duty trucks,pickups,military equipment,buses,etc. Occassionally I do some mainstream automotive diagnostics for GMC, Ford, etc.

I put myself through college building houses, so like others on here... I know a little bit about a lot of things. I've also taken welding classes to help me restore cars, but I'm not licensed.

Geologist here specializing in hydro. I also run a small computer (word of mouth) business building custom computers, home networks and small office networks. Run a slip sheet part time for a local companys loading dock. Run heavy machinery from time to time excavating basements, ponds whatever for extra money. I also have two years vocational in metal trades but i dont do this much anymore except to help out my father inlaw when needed.

I am an Advanced Design Engineer for the auto industry (I get to play with cool 3D CAD systems like I-DEAS, Unigraphics, Catia, etc.). I have worked in seating, windows, window regulators (lift), just left fuel systems and am starting with a metal forming supplier tuesday. I have a wall full of patents (if you have ridden in a car with the seatbelt attached to the seat instead of the car body you have used one or more of my patented items) and another handful pending. you can see axamples of what I do here: http://www.pasternakengineering.com

Own a 76 White with Blue Cobra II Deluxe Int 302 C4 with 3:00 trac-lock for past 19 years. I drive it daily

Good thread. I knew there were a few engineers here but I didn't realize how many and what everyone did. Chris (cobraII), you have some interesting projects there.

Add me to the list of engineers, mechanical. I just recently became registered as a Professional Engineer and also recently switched employers. After seven years at the previous company, I was getting bored and had lost my motivation. A change of pace was overdue. So now I'm now working for a company that develops power electronics products (inverters, chargers, etc). I get to work on interesting and challenging projects, I'm learning lots, and I'm getting exposure to the high-tech industry.

Hmmm, ok, did the education ladder. You can call me prosecution Case Control Supervisor, Investigator, Detective, Network Administrator, Web Master, Courtroom technology expert, etc., all in one job for over 18 years and still at it. Yes, badge included. It is not without it's drawbacks....exhausted at the end of each working day not including the 24/7 office nextel. Oh, more importantly....hobbies: dedicated to the rebirth of the mustang II and condemn falsities to the point of pronounced prosecution.
