On the tongue issue. I use a receiver on my truck that has an adjustable 5" drop (since the truck sits so high). You could use this receiver ... and flip the reciever upside down .... and flip the ball as well. Just an idea if your car sits too low to have proper tongue height.

[I can't believe I just recommended something of this nature.]

ive got a hitch on my gt. its not really even noticeable. its tucked under the bumper and you can remove the bracket that the ball is bolted to. i got it to tow small things and i also have a 15 foot boat that i tow with it. i will say that the car will tow the boat as good as a smaller truck. i will post pics of the hitch. i got it from a local trailor shop and it cost me about 160 bucks installed.

Where and how does it bolt up? The gas tank is right there behind the bumper. Any pics?

Heres mine

Here you can see the two bolts on the drivers side

These bolts are already in the car

The two on the actual bumper beam you'll have to put in yourself. I had to cut a 1 inch by 1 1/2 inch hole to get a plate and carraige bolt in it.
BTW I'm all for selling mine if you wanna buy it.

Still have it. It's a winter beater, though. I don't keep full coverage on both cars all year. The Jeep is twice as much to insure as the Mustang, for some stupid reason. ($90/mo vs $45/mo)

Draw-tite; part number is 24687
Reese; part number is 77029
Hidden Hitch; part number is 60117

The hitch's from Draw-tite and reese both use the 1 1/4" recievers.
The hidden hitch one is nice because it uses the flat type reciever, so it's harder to see.

Here's some info from the hidden hitch site:

Part Number: 60117 (Now Available)
Description: Class I (6xxxx Series) - Flat Bar
Finish: Black Powder Coat
Warranty: Limited Lifetime
Weight Carrying: 200/2000 lbs.(TW/GTW)
Weight: 20 lbs.
Size: 50.88" L x 11.6" W x 5.6" H

Here's a pic:

One of these might add a few hp to your numbers. I don't know if any additional torque would be there.
