Tranny, bell, clutch and driveline parts

After hearing what people have said about Keisler and pricing....I have decided that maybe it is best to piece it together myself. Now I would love suggestions as to what would be the best parts, in your expert opinions, to fit my application. I have a 390 engine, running 3.73 gears in the back and don't have anything. Must buy all pieces new so I can do whatever I like. But when I look at all the options for flywheel, clutch, bells.......it tends to get overwhelming. I would love some feedback as to what would be a good setup. I am putting in a Tremec 600 to get that overdrive gear, but need to match up all the other parts. Thanks.

Jon, just FYI this is a list of what I used to do my conversion, as best I can remember. Its a T-5 behind a Windsor, so you have to take it for whats it worth.

I may have forgotten a few widgits here and there as my memory is a lil fuzzy - I did the conversion about 5 years ago. Some of the prices have prolly changed since then too. If anyone sees I forgot something, let me know.

But I think it still shows that you can do this for a lot less $$$ than people suppose if you are willing to do some research, price-shopping, and trade some sweat for bux:

T-5 (used) 600.00
clutch (Zoom)
Pressure plate

crossmember (Dark Horse) 150.00?

Clutch cable
stock cable, welded allthread to end for adjustability free

T-5 bellhousing 45.00

T-5 block plate (Glen Buzek) 20.00

clutch pedal quadrant (MustangSteve) 5.00

upper and lower clutch brackets (fabricated) free

Shifter (Hurst, from Foxbody car I had before) ....

shifter handle (eBay) 15.00

modified headers for cable clearance free
TOTAL $835.00

Take your time and look hard at the eBay items available. I have saved a bunch so far on my conversion by looking at as many vendors as possible. Decide what parts you will be OK with used and which you would rather have used.

Some may only be available used.
