Adding an AOD, so i have to get a tranny cooler. Do they come with all the piping or hose to connect them? Can you use copper tube? or is braded hose better? Figure that would be very costly though. Also, it looks like i have the conections on my rad to add the cooler lines. Im wondering, could i put plumb it, so it goes to the rad, back out, then to the tranny cooer, then back to the tranny? Or would it be better just to go to the cooler and skip the rad?

yup, have the aod and all the stuff to go with it, minus the tranny cooler. i bought a baumann shift kit to help out, would like a better stall then stock though..just dont want to spend a fourtune on a (hopefully) tempory thing.

If the radiator's already set up for it, I'd hook them up there - especially if it's a temp thing. If it's longer term, I'd go with an aftermarket setup. Most come with all you'll need to hook them up. I'd consider mounting the cooler down low and off to the side underneath the car, so the hot air coming off of it doesn't pass back over the radiator making the rad work harder. And up there in Nova Scotia if you end up leaving the aod in, I'd plumb it out from the tranny to the auxillary cooler then to the radiator then to the tranny. That way in the winter, if the auxillary cooler works a little too well, the radiator cooler will put some heat BACK IN the fluid. You can use copper line or braided stainless, but if you're careful with the routing and covering of the kit's rubber lines, they'll work just fine. I've been adding auxillary oil coolers for decades to my cars - always used the high temp/pressure rubber lines that came with the kit. Never had a problem. One of them lasted for a good 8 years on my SCCA racer.

Cool! Thanks for the help! Can you get the fittings for the rad from ford? Right now it just has plugs in it.

Also, im not too worried about the winter, as its a summer only car. But that would probably be a better idea, run it to the cooler then to the rad! How much rubber line do these kits come with?
