Does anyone have any before and after fluid temps? And where can i get the fittings that screw into the stock cooler so i dont have to worry about the stock tubing? thanks for the help

you have too cut the return line ( the one going back too the tranny) and run that into the new cooler then the output of the new cooler back ino the return line. i don't have before and after temps ..

mine easily reached 215-220 with some aggresive driving around town, now it rarely goes over 180 and it heats up much slower. around 150* in 70* weather.

I've also been thingking about getting a tranny cooler....
What brand do you guys recommend?
How much do they cost?
Also how much do they? (sounds like it)

I got a Steeda Cooler, but no temp gauge, so I can't compare.

I was recomended either the Steeda or the B&M kits. Costs around $50-$60.

Install was about a half-hour, so about $40 give or take. $100 is not bad at all considering what could happen to your tranny over time at hotter temps. A well worth it preventive maintence mod for auto guys.

I used a TRU-COOL made by Long. I got it from www.bulkpart.com

I got the biggest one made 22" long 7" high. It came with all the fittings you need to get the job done. You will need an extra 5 feet of hose. Also, as long as you run it in-line with the radiator there is no need to cut the hard line.

I don't have any before and after temps because I'm too lazy to install a temp guage. I hate cutting the hard line so I'm going to bend a custom tube and just screw it in-line before the hot fluid reaches the radiator.

I have a B&M tranny cooler and temp gauge sitting around.

The cooler was easy to install, I never had a chance to setup the gauge.

I installed one on my '88, and although I don't have temperatures to prove it, it's definately worth the installation time. The hardest part for me was routing the hoses back around the radiator without having an unacceptable bend-radious on them.

I ordered the kit from Derale off bulkpart.com, so I didn't cut any hoses. The last thing I want is some ghetto looking installation, and I wanted to keep the tranny cooler on the radiator as well, to help bring the fluid up to operating temp. quicker during cold weather. (Not like I see any of that here in AZ.)

I chose a HAYDEN tranny cooler. picked it up at ADVANCED AUTO PARTS for $50.00, worth the money and your time for the install!

i was hitting 160-165 on the highway during a 9 hour drive from niagara falls to long island. when i'd stop for gas it'd go up to around 180, and then traffic by the bridges in nyc got me around 170-180.

no before numbers though since i had my sender for my gauge installed the same day as the cooler.

Do the B&M kits come with the fitting that screws into the inlet of the stock cooler( or the outlet if the b&m goes after the stock one)?

Well the track pep was really good and i power brake till just before the wheels start to spin. I've only cut a 1.9 twice though and it was on the same day with really good track prep like i said before

Oh yea the 1.9 was before i added the o/r pipe and the predator. Now im running 13.6 with a 2.0 60'. I think if i can get the launch perfected or had better track prep I could pull a 1.9 with my current setup.

thanks thats wat i was looking for! But i noticed on that site that there is another for adapter kit which is part # 13014. Are the fittings you posted definately for mustangs?
