So i'm thinking of switching from my UPR shifter to the mgw shifter, and while i'm at it, want to change my tranny fluid.

I know i need 4 quarts of something... I've done a search, and i'm still a little confused...

I think i want to go with royal purple, do i go with the syncromax manual fluid, or the atf fluid??

Also, once i drain the fluid from the bottom and take out the old shifter, i can just pour the royal purple into the top of the tranny when the shifter went right? Any particular place i should pour it? do i put it into the hole where the ball of the shifter goes in?

Thanks for the help.

ATF fluid is what you want...SyncroMesh, Royal Purple, Mobil 1, etc, etc, etc...but make sure it is ATF, not gear oil or something like that.
You can pour it anywhere in the opening when you take the shifter off - you'll see it's ALL wet with fluid down there - it'll be pretty obvious when you get the shifter off.
That hole where the ball of the shifter goes is just a 'cup' of sorts...it only holds a tablespoon or so, so don't try to fill this! :-O
