It's probably ok. I was in the same boat with only 1k miles on my t5s fluid in 10-11 years.
Heat is what deteriorates trans fluid, and manuals tend to run cooler anyway. What ultimately convinced me to change it was condensation given there is a vent. Probabky wasn't necessary, but the fluid looked brand new when it came out.
a shower thought....if the tranny is new and i put fluid into the tranny as the directions stated was i suppose to add more fluid
after driving the car?
