I'm going to need a new tranny for my car very soon, especially after the new project is done. Right now it wont go into 4th at a high rpm and it vibrates really really bad at 100+ mph. I'm going to be staying with a manual transmission but I'd like to jump up to a 6spd. I know the T-56 is a 6spd but what are some other ones? Which one would be the best to handle around 500hp if not more in the future?

Mine has some trouble getting into third at high RPM's too so I am in the same boat as you. I am going to stick with a 5-speed so that I can keep cost to a minimum. I am either going to go with a G-Force or a TKO. I personally see no benefit from a six-speed except that you can get away with running a little taller gear.

i think the T56 is the only 6 speed manual trans, but i'm not too sure. (for our cars) but the T56's are mad expensive. lol

T-56 is the only one I can think of (6-spd).

A TKO would be the way to go. But $$$$$. Did you see the thread about the TKO install earlier?

Richmond makes a 6 speed manual transmission, and I believe they have applications for our cars, but it's expensive like the T56. You could try maybe the 3550 or 3650, whichever one it is.

I'm not sure if there are other 6spd.'s, but I know the T56 is tried and true, so if you are going with the 6spd, I really wouldn't bother trying to find something besides a T56, it will most likely be just as expensive, but not as tried as the T56.

Dustin, that C4 wasnt geared right so I wouldnt get any gas mileage so I passed it up.

I'd like to get a 6spd but I havent looked at any trannies to check out the prices yet. I'll check into the TKO, 3550, and 3650 some more

I've been watching both TKO600 and T56 prices, since my tranny is also making funny, not very inspiring sounds. Seems like you will end up around $1800 or so with a TKO600 (the current equivalent of the old "TKO" tranny). A T56 swap is $2250 plus whatever clutch disc you choose. Personally I think I might opt for the T56, since it's not all *that* much more, and it would be kinda cool.
